Palliative Care

Palliative care or end of life care is specialised medical care for people with serious illnesses. We aim to provide patients with relief from the symptoms, pain, physical and mental stress of a serious illness, whatever their condition.

Palliative Care Aims

  • Affirmation of life and acceptance of death being a natural process

  • Pain relief and care for other distressing symptoms

  • Psychological and spiritual integration to patient care

  • Supporting patients to live as actively as possible

  • Helping the family cope during the patient's illness and in their own bereavement

More information on Palliative care is available on the NHS website, and that of the National Council For Palliative Care.

Thank you so much for all the kindness & care you gave Hazel and for the support and friendship you gave us.

Thanks to you all, her final months were dignified and content, spent in a gentle, truly caring and, indeed, joyful environment.

We cannot fully express our gratitude for everything you gave to Hazel and us, her family.
